The regional military administration reported on 20 September that the death toll rose to four when a child injured in Vyshhorod district died in hospital. The child had been wounded in strikes on that district and did not survive despite medical treatment.
Officials said Russian forces hit the capital region for more than a day, damaging 31 separate sites in five districts. The heaviest destruction was in Fastiv district, southwest of Kyiv city, where 24 facilities were reported damaged. According to the administration, those sites included residential houses, production and utility buildings, and the grounds of an agricultural enterprise. Seventeen tractors and other agricultural vehicles were listed among the damaged assets, showing how basic farm equipment is being destroyed alongside housing and workshops.
The regional barrage came amid a wider wave of Russian drone activity. Ukraine’s air defenses reported that they had shot down or suppressed 101 out of 138 hostile UAVs in a recent attack. Even with that interception rate, they recorded direct impacts from Russian air‑launched weapons at 17 locations, as well as damage at five more locations from the fall of destroyed drones or their fragments.
In Kyiv itself, authorities declared an air‑raid alert due to the threat from incoming UAVs. The alert signaled residents to take shelter again, underlining how the wider capital area remains a regular target for Russian strikes.

The regional administration has not yet released full details on the other three people killed or the number of wounded, but the late death of the injured child in Vyshhorod district shows how casualty figures can continue to rise after the initial reports.
