Ukraine pushes to mass‑produce drone interceptors after homegrown systems pass combat tests

The Shahed loitering munitions used by Russia have been a persistent problem for Ukrainian defenses because they are relatively cheap, numerous, and often launched in large groups.
Zelensky said the new interceptors were able to take down a high‑speed Shahed, a benchmark that suggests they can cope with the flight profile of some of Russia’s most troublesome drones. He did not name the companies but said the country’s leadership wants to see all the test results and choose a format to rapidly increase production and begin mass manufacturing of this type of weapon.
