Satellite Data Shows Major Fire at Hostomel Warehouse Site Hit a Day Earlier by Geran Drones
NASA satellite imagery shows a significant fire anomaly in the Hostomel area at the location where warehouses were reported destroyed yesterday by Geran drone strikes.
Fresh satellite data points to a new or continuing fire in Hostomel at a warehouse site already hit once this week.
NASA fire‑detection imagery recorded a major heat anomaly in the Hostomel area at coordinates 50.5913, 30.2406. OSINT reporting notes that this location matches the warehouses destroyed a day earlier in Geran drone strikes.
Hostomel, on the outskirts of Kyiv, was already known as the site of heavy fighting early in the full‑scale invasion. It has since remained exposed to Russian drone activity. The reported use of Geran drones — a label commonly applied to a class of loitering munitions — to destroy warehouses there was followed, within a day, by satellite evidence of a substantial fire at the same spot.
From satellite data alone it isn’t clear whether the latest anomaly reflects renewed strikes, secondary explosions, or a rekindling of the previous blaze. It does show that a site already damaged by drones remains affected by fire.
Further information from local authorities, imagery from the ground, or additional satellite passes will clarify how extensive the damage at Hostomel is and whether Russian forces are repeatedly targeting the same logistics sites around Kyiv.
