NASA satellite imagery recorded a major thermal anomaly in the early hours of 12 September near Hostomel, northwest of Kyiv, at coordinates 50.5913, 30.2406. The hotspot matches the location where warehouses were reported destroyed the previous day by Geran drone strikes.
The flare‑up suggests that damaged structures or debris at the complex have ignited again, or that earlier hidden hotspots have broken out into open flames.
Hostomel is a logistics area with warehouse infrastructure that helps supply the wider Kyiv region and, indirectly, front‑line forces. Destroying storage sites there disrupts the flow of fuel, food, equipment and other goods that pass through these hubs.
