The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) service reported that four unknown projectiles struck two ships roughly four nautical miles west of Khasab. One vessel was reported to be on fire after the impact.
The projectiles were not identified in the initial notice, and there was no immediate information on the flag, ownership, or cargo of the ships. UKMTO’s early report also did not mention casualties.
Khasab sits close to the Strait of Hormuz approaches, on waters that link the Gulf with the Arabian Sea.
