Hezbollah Drone Attacks Trigger Israeli Strikes That Destroy Former Hospital Building in Southern Lebanon
Hezbollah launched explosive drones at Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, prompting Israeli strikes on several villages and the destruction of a building that once housed Ghandour Hospital, with Lebanese media reporting dead and wounded.

The Israel Defense Forces said that members of Hezbollah sent two explosive drones toward Israeli forces operating in what the military describes as a security zone in southern Lebanon. The IDF reported that the drones were aimed at its units along the border and framed the launches as part of ongoing hostile activity by the group.
In response, IDF fighter jets struck targets in and around the towns of Kfar Raman, Nabatieh al‑Fawqa, Nabatieh city and Arab Salim over the past hour, according to Israeli statements. An Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle also hit a motorcycle in Nabatieh al‑Fawqa. Initial reports from the area cite two people killed and several wounded in these latest strikes.
Lebanese media outlets report that the building that once housed Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh al‑Fawqa was attacked and completely destroyed. They note that the structure had been empty for a long time, but its demolition underscores how sites that previously served civilian purposes continue to feature in the military map of the conflict.
On the Israeli side, the military has again circulated red evacuation maps for communities in the north. These maps indicate which areas residents should be prepared to leave during escalations and are being used as Hezbollah’s drone and other cross‑border attacks continue.
For residents of southern Lebanon, repeated air and drone strikes in villages such as Nabatieh, Kfar Raman, Nabatieh al‑Fawqa and Arab Salim have damaged homes and infrastructure and added to the uncertainty over which locations might be targeted next. Even an unoccupied hospital building carried symbolic weight as a former medical facility in the region before its destruction.
