Russian Overnight Strikes Kill at Least 12 in Kyiv Region and Set Rail Depot, Logistics Hub Ablaze
Russia’s latest combined missile and drone attack on Kyiv and its suburbs killed at least 12 people and wounded more than a dozen others, while igniting fires at a major rail depot and a logistics hub. The strikes again pushed civilians and key transport facilities into the center of the long‑range campaign.
Overnight Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and its wider region killed at least 12 civilians and injured more than 17, according to Ukrainian emergency services and regional officials. The attacks damaged apartment buildings and workplaces while hitting key parts of Ukraine’s transport network.
Authorities in Kyiv reported that eight people were killed in the capital and at least five more injured, including three children. In the Darnytskyi district on the city’s eastern side, a strike triggered fires at two locations and left seven people dead. Emergency responders said one person remained in critical condition in hospital. Elsewhere in the city, blast waves damaged additional buildings and injured more residents.

Just outside the capital, a large logistics complex in Brovary was reported to be on fire after the attack. The facility serves as a major hub in Kyiv Oblast, handling cargo moving in and out of the city.
Regional officials said that across Kyiv City and Kyiv Oblast, the civilian death toll from the night’s strikes had reached 12, with at least 17 injured. In the town of Boryspil, the regional administration reported that a combined attack damaged a five‑storey residential building, a store, private houses, vehicles, an industrial enterprise, and an auto service center. Initial information from the oblast administration cited one person killed and nine injured in Boryspil after damage to a business facility and a five‑storey residential building, with cars catching fire in a parking lot before firefighters extinguished the blaze. A later update from the same source said four people were killed and 13 injured there.
Russia’s Defence Ministry issued its own account of the overnight operation. It claimed that in Kyiv City and Kyiv Oblast, missiles and drones targeted military‑industrial enterprises involved in producing missiles, drones, and related components, as well as fuel depots used to supply the Ukrainian military. These claims could not be independently verified. Visual evidence from Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast showed damage to residential buildings, shops, vehicles, and civilian‑used industrial sites.
Operationally, the damage to the Darnytsia rail depot and the burning logistics complex in Brovary adds pressure to Ukraine’s transport system at a time when the military depends on rapid movement of ammunition, equipment, and personnel. Rail hubs in and around Kyiv are important nodes linking rear‑area supply lines with contested regions in the east and south.
The overnight strikes formed part of a wider combined attack package on Ukraine that included ballistic and cruise missiles, hypersonic weapons and large numbers of Shahed‑type drones, according to Ukrainian military reporting and an independently compiled overview of missile flight routes. While Ukrainian air defences intercepted many targets, several ballistic missiles reached the capital.
