Ukraine’s industrial cities woke up to smoke and power cuts on 18 August after one of Russia’s most wide‑ranging overnight drone waves in weeks forced civilians back into the blast radius of Moscow’s strategy. From a shopping mall in Slovyansk to an electrical equipment plant in Zaporizhzhia and warehouses near Kyiv, low‑flying Geran‑series drones once again turned factories and commercial centers into battlefield objectives.
