Ukraine has quietly crossed another threshold in its long-range strike campaign against Russia. The country’s Defense Ministry has formally approved the Dovbush T40, a domestically produced strategic unmanned aerial vehicle with a range of more than 2,000 kilometers and the ability to stay aloft for over 24 hours. In practical terms, that means a Ukrainian airframe launched from its own territory can now reach targets well beyond the Ural Mountains and into Siberia, while also lingering as a sensor and strike platform.
The Dovbush T40 is described as having a wingspan of nearly five meters and a flexible mission profile. It can be used as a one‑way attack system — a kamikaze drone — or fitted to drop munitions and then return. Beyond its strike role, officials say the platform is designed for deep reconnaissance and artillery fire correction, providing real-time targeting information far behind Russian lines.
