Ukrainian Strike on Samara Missile Plant Puts Russian Rocket Program Under Direct Fire

Ukraine says it used "Flamingo" missiles to hit a major industrial site in Russia’s Samara, while the regional governor confirms a strike on a missile production facility. Russia’s own missile and space industry is moving closer to the front line. Overnight into 15 August, Ukrainian forces launched missiles at an industrial facility in Samara, deep inside Russia, in an attack that Kyiv-linked channels described as a strike on defence plants tied to missile and space production. Hours later, the governor of Russia’s Samara region confirmed that a Ukrainian missile strike had hit a missile production facility in the region. Ukrainian-linked reports said the strike was carried out with domestically produced "Flamingo" missiles against an industrial enterprise in the city.
