**Deck**: Dozens of Russian Geran-4 drones hit Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight, striking locomotives, a key railway station and a road bridge, leaving some trains unable to depart and repair crews unable to start work.

Russian jet-powered Geran-4 drones hit key rail and road infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight, destroying locomotives, igniting fires and damaging a bridge on the outskirts of Dnipro.

Regional reporting describes a large-scale attack using dozens of Geran-4 drones across the oblast late on 30 October and into the early hours of 31 October. Explosions were heard in several districts of Dnipro as well as the cities of Kamianske, Pavlohrad and Synelnykove, and the towns of Slobozhanske and Oleksandrivka.

Ukraine’s rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia said Dnipropetrovsk rail infrastructure was hit five times in one evening, with three locomotives destroyed. One of the main targets was the railway station in Dnipro, which has been repeatedly attacked in recent days. The latest strikes set off large fires and brought down wires and overhead structures onto train cars, according to the company. Emergency crews couldn’t begin repairs because the area remained under threat of further missile and drone attacks.

The damage quickly affected passengers. Some trains couldn’t depart from Dnipropetrovsk, and Ukrzaliznytsia offered ticket refunds or the option to reschedule for days considered safer.

Drones also struck a road bridge in Slobozhanske on the outskirts of Dnipro, leaving visible damage. In a separate incident, a Geran-4 hit a combine harvester on the northern edge of Dnipro; it’s unclear whether the machine was deliberately targeted or struck by falling debris.

In Synelnykove, a fire broke out after further Geran-4 strikes. These incidents formed part of a broader overnight barrage on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where the stated primary targets were energy and railway infrastructure. A road bridge in Slobozhanske was among the structures struck.

The attacks also included a Geran-4 strike on a road bridge in the town of Slobozhanske and a separate hit on a combine harvester near Dnipro, underscoring how both transport links and equipment in surrounding areas are exposed when drones reach the region.

In the coming days, the key questions will be how fast Ukrzaliznytsia can restore operations through Dnipro’s station, whether trains are rerouted around damaged sections, and if Russian forces return to the same targets in follow-on strikes.
