**Deck**: Overnight Russian missile and drone strikes closed Kyiv’s Southern Bridge, disrupted metro service, killed at least two people in Kharkiv, and ignited an industrial fire in Lozova.

Russian attacks on the night of 26–27 October again fell on Ukraine’s transport links and urban districts, closing a major bridge in Kyiv and killing civilians in Kharkiv.

In Kyiv, the Southern Bridge over the Dnipro River was closed after an overnight Russian ballistic missile strike. The bridge also carries part of the city’s metro system. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said he was assessing the extent of the damage.

All stations on the capital’s red metro line are open to passengers, according to city authorities. Train movement between Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir stations on the green line has been temporarily suspended because of damage to metro infrastructure on the Southern Bridge.

From the evening of 26 October, Russian attacks on the capital killed one person and injured 14 residents, Kyiv officials reported.

In Kharkiv City, Russian forces struck the Novobavarskyi District with at least five Tornado‑S rockets, some of them equipped with cluster warheads. Cluster munitions scatter many smaller bomblets over a wider area, increasing the danger for anyone nearby.

Two Geran‑4/5 jet‑powered drones then hit the Kholodnohirskyi District of Kharkiv. One of the apparent targets was a locomotive depot at coordinates 49.99940, 36.19899. These attacks killed at least two civilians and injured others.

In Lozova, a city in Kharkiv Oblast south of Kharkiv City, Geran‑2/4 drones started a fire at an industrial facility in the city centre.

Russian forces also continued jet‑drone strikes on western and southern Ukraine. Geran‑4/5 drones again hit Vinnytsia Oblast. Explosions were reported in several towns and cities across western Ukraine, with reporting describing a heavy strike campaign against railway and energy infrastructure. In and around Zaporizhzhia City, Geran‑4 drones hit the southern suburbs of the city and the nearby city of Vilnyansk.

A separate report said Russia continued attacking western Ukraine with Geran‑4/5 jet‑drones last night, and that Vinnytsia Oblast was once again hit.

Signals to watch in the coming days include the speed of repairs on Kyiv’s Southern Bridge and metro line, and whether Russian forces sustain this level of Tornado‑S and Geran drone use against Ukraine’s bridges, rail hubs, and energy sites.
