Ukraine’s Air Force says Russia launched 121 drones, most of them jet-powered Shahed types, along with a Kh-59 guided missile. According to the Air Force, 96 drones were destroyed or suppressed, and the Kh-59 did not reach its target. Officials recorded direct strikes at 11 locations and debris falling on eight more.

In Kherson, the city’s military administration reported that a Russian drone hit a healthcare facility in the central part of the city on the morning of 31 August, injuring two workers.

In Mykolaiv region, regional authorities said a Russian attack damaged a warehouse, seven trucks, and two cars, and wounded one man. In the Kutsurub community, they reported that FPV (first-person-view) drones damaged two private houses.

In Sloviansk, Donetsk region, the local military administration said a Russian airstrike destroyed the entrance of a five-story apartment building and damaged a private house, injuring four people.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that in Zaporizhzhia region a Russian drone attacked a fire and rescue unit overnight in an unnamed settlement. The strike damaged the building’s roof, windows, and doors and also hit a fire truck and a passenger car. No casualties were reported.

Around Kyiv, alerts for drone threats were issued from 04:57 UTC, and an air-raid warning was declared in the city at 06:06 UTC. Near Boryspil in Kyiv region, a logistics warehouse was set ablaze in a strike that open-source reports link to Russian Geran-4 jet drones. The same warehouse complex was previously reported hit on 27 August.

In Odesa, local media said a facility belonging to Nova Poshta, a major private parcel and freight company, was struck.

Ukraine’s Air Force also reported overall figures for the night’s air battle: 96 out of 121 hostile drones were shot down or suppressed, and the single Kh-59 missile failed to reach its target. They noted confirmed impacts from Russian air attacks at 11 locations and falling debris from intercepted drones at eight additional locations.

The immediate questions for Ukraine and its partners will be how much the strikes disrupted logistics at hubs near Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, and whether the high volume of jet-powered drones points to similar mass attacks in coming nights. Any new calls from Kyiv for additional air-defense systems or munitions, and evidence of repeated hits on the same warehouses or emergency services, will signal how Russia intends to sustain pressure.
